Clos Pegase 2013 Red Wine Blend Napa Valley
This dense purple wine delivers up complex dark aromas of boysenberry jam, black licorice, cola and sweet spices, with additional nuances of incense from barrel aging. The broad, rich entry fills the mouth with delicious fruit famed by a dense mouthfeel, balanced acidity and abundant integrated tannins. The dark fruit flavors with hints of dark chocolate and mocha linger on the palate.
Ideal weather set the stage for a higher-than-normal berry size which resulted in an exceptional crop which perfectly ripened through late summer and early autumn. Each of the lots used in our Pegaso blend was then harvested at perfect ripeness and individually fermented to ensure optimal extraction of flavor, color and tannin.
