Buried Cane 2013 Heartwood Red Blend Columbia Valley
Enticing primary aromatics of raspberry, boysenberry, and white pepper spice are complemented by subtler notes of vanilla and lilies. Wonderfully soft on entry onto the palate, this blend is rich with red fruit notes of raspberry, pomegranate and cranberry and finishes with a lovely lingering spicy note.
The Columbia Valley contains many distinct, small winegrowing regions and Washington has emerged as a world-class producer of premium wines. The wines exhibit bright, ripe fruit flavors and express true varietal character. The name Buried Cane is a nod to the unique Washington State practice to protect grape vines from frigid winter temperatures by burying low-growing vine canes under the soil. After the winter freeze passes, the canes are unearthed for the coming growing season.
